Introduction
Students have read about the anti-Communist hysteria that
gripped America during the 1950s. In this lesson, they will
examine more closely the views of a leading figure of this
episode, Senator Joseph McCarthy.

Description
Students will go to the Turner Learning Web site and examine
part of a speech by Senator Joseph McCarthy. They will then
answer questions about what they have read.
Instructional Objective
Students will be able to interpret a primary source in order
to answer questions about it.
