Students have learned about the growth of child labor in the
United States during the late 1800s. In this lesson, they
will visually examine the conditions of these workers.

Students will examine photographs of child workers and answer
questions based on the photographs.

Objectives
1. Students will be able to answer questions about a series
of photographs that they examine.
2. Students will be able to make a judgement about the jobs
that children worked based on the photographs they examine.
